How is the HSC GPA calculated in Bangladesh?
Same board rule as SSC — the 4th subject only adds points above 2:
GPA = (main subject points + 4th subject points above 2) ÷ number of main subjects
Worked example
- 6 main subjects: A+, A, A, A-, A+, A → 5+4+4+3.5+5+4 = 25.5 points
- 4th subject A (4.00) → adds 4 − 2 = 2 points
- GPA = (25.5 + 2) ÷ 6 = 4.58 → GPA 4.58
HSC GPA decides university admission eligibility — GST and DU units set minimum combined SSC + HSC GPAs each year.
