How do you convert GPA to percentage?
Divide your GPA by the scale maximum and multiply by 100:
Percentage = (GPA ÷ scale maximum) × 100
Worked example
- 3.4 on a 4.0 scale → (3.4 ÷ 4) × 100 = 85.00%
- 4.2 on a 5.0 scale → (4.2 ÷ 5) × 100 = 84.00%
- 8.6 on a 10-point scale → 86.00%
This is the linear conversion used by HEC Pakistan (× 25 on the 4.0 scale). Some universities publish their own non-linear tables — check yours for official documents.

Is GPA × 25 an official formula in Pakistan?

What GPA equals 60% (first division)?
