How is GPA calculated at IIT?
IIT CGPA Calculator (All IITs) uses the IIT 10-Point Scale (AA-DD) (maximum 10.00). Each grade carries quality points. Your GPA is the credit-weighted average:
GPA = Σ (grade points × credit hours) ÷ Σ credit hours
Worked example
- Course 1: grade A (4.00) × 3 credit hours = 12.00 quality points
- Course 2: grade B+ (3.33) × 3 credit hours = 9.99 quality points
- Course 3: grade B (3.00) × 2 credit hours = 6.00 quality points
- GPA = (12.00 + 9.99 + 6.00) ÷ 8 credit hours = 3.50
